How my writing skills have changed

It’s great that we live in the era of technology nowadays, because there have been many things which I’ve learned this year using my computer and smartphone and I’ve successfully implemented them into my projects and essays, making them more structuralized and logical.     First things first, I’ve had a wonderful opportunity to improve my writing skills this year. Writing has always been my weak side as I considered the handwriting method to be an obsolete one. Thus, such an essential aspect of the English language didn’t elicit my interest at all and that is why I hated writing huge essays. However, everything changed when it was announced that I would work on my writing skills using technology. I realized then how great, fast and convenient it would be to study in such an entertaining way! Secondly, this course allows me to put a lot of words that I’ve previously learned into practice!   The method of memorizing lexis by using it in essays results in enriching my vocabulary. I

Essay 1

Nowadays, the global situation has changed completely: from our daily habits and routine to our ways and methods of working, studying, and simply ambling along the street. COVID-19 has locked the majority of the population in homes. Now that the planet has undergone such a dramatic issue, lots of other problems, unfortunately, have become overshadowed and Africa is not an exception. To begin with, the problem the world faces today has caused lots of governments to act on impulse, and thus chaos has ensued. The African continent has always been the poorest area on our planet which sanitation level has been the lowest one. Deceases, poverty and destitution are the factors which Africa is associated with by many people. However, the recent events have shown that the situation is going to worsen even more as employees are already being laid off because of the global shutdown. Consequently, a great number of people are at loss, because their governments can’t sustain the imploding ec

My Dream Job

A disclaimer: the essay has nothing to do with me in real life. I've just made it all up. Hope you will understand my choice to arrange things this way.  Nowadays there are lots of huge and successful companies and corporations which a great number of young people strive to work for. While some people truly love medicine, history or sport, others find it fascinating to work in IT. However, all the spheres mentioned above have nothing to do with my preferences and dreams.  To begin with, I've always been interested in space. Not only did I watch lots of scientific films and series related to it when I was a child, but also I had plenty of magazines on this topic. Stars, galaxies and even aliens have always aroused my interest. That is why I decided to be an astronaut a long time ago. Now that I've grown up, I can see that this occupation has many advantages which I am satisfied with a lot.  Firstly, generally, this job is very important in terms of explorat

Speaking on using voice mails

Nowadays it’s hard to imagine someone who records voice mails and, moreover, uses them on a regular basis. It sounds preposterous and the young generation would obviously internally poke fun at such people. And I can certainly understand them. As for me, I don’t use them and neither are my groupmates or simply the people I know. No-bo-dy. I believe that if someone can’t find on the Internet the info they search for, they can alternatively ask their relatives or friends to help them with this issue. It’s just simple as that. Sorry for the shortness of my sentences, but answering about the Internet is like using it: quick and simple. I don’t worry at all about contacting someone via the methods listed above. The only thing that confuses me is recording a voice mail. I am convinced that trying to communicate with someone (especially with a stranger) via voice mail is not the best option to choose. There are lots of social media platforms as VK, WhatsApp, Telegram and so on. It’s poss

The Financier

The Financier I chose to read a novel 'The Financier' written by Theodore Dreiser. Honestly, I had a choice to make: to read Martin Eden (the book which I had already read in Russian) or to read the Financier which was  completely new  book to me. I decided to give it a go and start reading the Financier. It's important to mention that I enjoy reading such books as they encourage their readers to act like the main characters, to achieve their own success through constant struggles and adversities. The book cover doesn't contain a lot of info about the plot. It only briefly tells a reader about the author(1). 'The Financier' is based on real-life of streetcar tycoon whose real name was Charles Yerkes.  I reckon the main theme of the book is competition or, to put it in another way, a financial war. It symbolizes Frank's determination in gaining his goals and his desire to have an upper hand over everyone competing with him. He wants total domination

YouTube video I liked

I spend quite a considerable amount time watching lots of videos on YouTube every day. What I like most is fighting, politics, languages and cyber sport or videogames (Cs:GO in particular). That is why I found this video to be entertaining and ludicrous at the same time. It's devoted to the Ukrainian Cs:GO player who's nickname is 'S1mple'.The team he is in is called Na'Vi (Natus Vincere which can be translated from Latin as Born to Win). He is currently ranked second in terms of best players in the world. In fact, he is still considered to be the best player if we do not take into account his second place in the list of best players of 2019. However, he was the best in 2017 and since that time he'd been retaining his place by showing absolutely insane playing skills for 2 successive years.Even in 2019, he inhumanly performed and shocked moment by moment the audience by making countless highlights. But,unfortunately, his team was not successful enough to win lo
