Nowadays, the
global situation has changed completely: from our daily habits and routine to
our ways and methods of working, studying, and simply ambling along the street.
COVID-19 has locked the majority of the population in homes. Now that the
planet has undergone such a dramatic issue, lots of other problems,
unfortunately, have become overshadowed and Africa is not an exception.
To begin with, the
problem the world faces today has caused lots of governments to act on
impulse, and thus chaos has ensued. The African continent has always been the
poorest area on our planet which sanitation level has been the lowest one.
Deceases, poverty and destitution are the factors which Africa is associated
with by many people. However, the recent events have shown that the situation
is going to worsen even more as employees are already being laid off because of
the global shutdown. Consequently, a great number of people are at loss,
because their governments can’t sustain the imploding economy. Thus, the
plunging currency results in the main issue the African people are struggling
with right now: hunger. Subsequently, people are rather afraid of losing their
jobs and dying of hunger than of being infected by the coronavirus.
Furthermore, people also ruin their
health by inhaling lots of chemicals that hover around. Plus, the poor economy
can’t maintain the boreholes in good condition, which results in their
pollution. Not only is the African countries’ air contaminated, but also water,
the resource which people have always needed badly there. The environmental
issues are even more dangerous for Africans than the coronavirus. The government’s
negligence and a lack of financing for the realization of fixing the problem
might cause an environmental catastrophe.
In addition, the
level of cases concerning drug abuse, terror, robbery has also increased. For
example, some former drug addicts who decided to start living a normal life, relapsed
into drugs after the shutdown. It was also reported that different gangs to gain the support of citizens provide people with masks and food and thus, destabilizing the situation even more, form a
solid opposition to have the upper hand over the current government.
All things considered, we now live in a totally
different world than we did a couple of months ago. While some countries are
working on tackling the coronavirus problem, others, like Nigeria, are facing
even greater threats than just the pandemic and that are less discussed
globally.

Nikita,
ОтветитьУдалитьthanks for sharing your essay draft. The topic it is devoted to cannot be more urgent. I've looked through your essay draft and can say that the arguments you have provided are persuasive and clear. Your draft is also logical and the easy to read. However, as previously your essay contains 3 paragraphs, while a standard essay must have 5. I have explained in one of my comments why the standard number of paragraphs is 5, and I'll try to do it again today.
Nikita,
ОтветитьУдалитьthanks for this essay. It's written really well with sufficient development of the arguments and their support. It is logical and consistent. It's also well-written from the points of view of the language use and the mechnics. Congratulations!
Just 2 things:
than of infecting the coronavirus.: WF > the passive form is necessary, i.e., being infected
You need to add reference details at the end of the last but one paragraph after the word "government"
