Resources for Using English

The site I'd like to share with everyone is all about listening but not a simple one. The site specializes in listening to people from different countries, thus, providing a listener with the opportunity to differenciate the accents of some speakers. For example, we can turn on a conversation where one of the interlocutors can be from Sydney and the other one from Edinburgh. So, the site creates a very natural atmosphere where a person becomes completely involved into listening to different accents as if it is happening in real life. We can choose seven options of difficulty depending on the level of a listener. I do recommend everyone to challenge themselves by reaching the last level which is the toughest one. Undoubtedly, regular listening to the audio files which,by the way, are absolutely free to use here will enhance listening skills and familiarize people with lots of accents.

    Thanks for sharing this information. I found this resource useful too. Have you used it before or found it when completing the task? If the latter, then are you planning to use it in the future? It'd be great if you shared your experience in using it some time later when/if you have some more examples of your use of it.

To begin with, I’d like to mention that the diversity of our thoughts depends on what we do or see to enrich our mind. Chinese people tend to forget characters throughout their lives because of technological progress: mobile phones, laptops, Ipads, etc. According to the video , not only can’t older people write down some characters, but also lots of teenagers find it difficult to remember such widely used characters as, for example, a tooth paste, obscene, etc. In my opinion, it’s becoming a national problem in China. Nowadays, there are lots of surveys in China that draw people’s attention to characters and their remembrance. To begin with, such surveys have several goals to achieve: to show the Chinese people how the world has influenced their culture and language and what can be solved or done to prevent such problems to occur in the nearest future.   Russia-Ukraine: tentative progress at first talks for three years The topic I’ve chosen is connected to the Russian-Ukrainian issue that’s been unresolved for 5 years since the Crimea incident. The question is very controversial and the relationships between the two countries were tense, and situation still has not changed so far these days. I'd like to consider two periods in its development: what happened before the meeting and after it. It is necessary to say a few words about a certain period importance of this event The majority of European countries and the USA still consider Russian annexation of Crimea as an illegal action towards Ukraine.
